So, Emily and I both aren't too big on the excessive celebrity obsession/interest/what have you. But, what is up with all the serious attacking of Britney Spears's mothering? For me, it points to how hard society seems to be on mothers, how hung up on "perfect" mothering we are, and how much fun some people seem to have at others (whether your famous or ordinary) expense. There is now a web site devoted to "freeing" baby Sean. Jeez. These people know nothing of her parenting or family life or anything about her for that matter. All they know are a couple of mishaps with highchairs and car seats.
I fell flat on the pavement when I was holding my youngest when he was just a few months old. It was absolutely harrowing and he had a HUGE, purple bump on his head for days. He was fine, I was a mess. And all I can say is THANK GOD no one jumped out of the bushes and started to film us on the ground, sobbing. Emily had an accident involving a car seat and one of her daughters, and she can barely talk about it. It happens to all of us.
This article says some moms are starting to feel sorry for Spears. I do too and I say leave the woman alone.
Though I'm not much of a BS fan, I'm definitely starting to feel sorry for the girl.
