Wii have winners!

Wow, we had 490 of the most amazing entries to our Wii Fit giveaway! Thank you everyone for contributing your stories to the contest. We were so moved, and laughed a lot, too, as we read through all of them.

Our independent panel of judges reviewed the comments and narrowed it down to around 20 finalists. We took those finalists and did a random drawing for the winners.

Here they are, congratualtions!

Winner # 1 -- Shel

After having 4 children, the pounds started to creep on. Last October, I lost my father. While doing the memorial board, I realized there weren't any pictures of me. That's because I'd gotten so heavy, I wouldn't have my picture taken anymore. I joined Weight Watchers the next week. I started out at 202lbs-at 5'4" tall, that's a lot of weight. I've lost almost 30 pounds so far and have begun using the treadmill at work after my shift is over. I've read about the Wii Fit and I'm sure it's for me. I'd be able to use this during the day while the kids are at school. My funniest workout story: A few years ago I spent big money and joined a gym. My youngest was just a baby then and I was always running late trying to get her dressed and packed for the on-site childcare they had there so I could make the aerobics class. I threw some clothes in a bag and dashed out the door, barely having time to drop her off in the childcare room and change into my workout clothes. I did the whole class not realizing the workout pants I had chosen had the butt chewed out of them from the dog-there was a nice gaping hole in the back. I'm sure everyone behind me that day got a laugh out of staring at my underwear. Hey, if I win the Wii Fit, I can do it in my underwear without anyone laughing at me! Winner # 2 -- Beverley Justice

I got the dreaded diagnosis of Diabetes Type 2 in 2002. Years of prednisone therapy for MS had left me many pounds heavier since high school. I was taking medication twice a day just to keep my sugar level at a reasonable level. Then, I started going to the YMCA and walking mile after mile around the track. In the beginning, a mile would take me 45 minutes. Now, I can walk a mile in 18 minutes. Much better. I have better news than that though. Now, I'm off the medication for diabetes and control my blood sugar levels with diet and exercise. You could not have convinced me that this would be possible that first day the doctor told me I am diabetic, and my life was changed forever. He was correct, it has changed forever, but I believe in a much more positive way than either one of us could have hoped for. Posted by: Beverley Justice | May 26, 2008 at 03:26 PM
